Brian Sayers, MD has been a practicing rheumatologist for 40 years in Austin, Texas. He is a mid-life seminary graduate who has worked with unhoused men in recovery, men in transitional housing recently released from a maximum security prison, and as a volunteer physician working with undocumented immigrants in need of healthcare. In 2018 he founded a non-profit program that provides wellness resources and free counseling services for a community of over 4,500 physicians. For many years, he has chaired a committee of his county medical society that advocates for physicians in recovery. Dr. Sayers and his wife enjoy their eight grandchildren and weekend time at their farm in rural Fayette County, Texas.
