Carl Barker

Carl Barker from Shipley, a former metallurgist, knows that people often forge the strongest things over time. While health challenges and mental health hurdles paused his creative work for a decade, he never lost sight of the tiny hero living behind the pantry wall.

Through Roxy’s adventures, Carl aims to show children that even when the world feels large, bravery can be found in the smallest of hearts. The Roxy the Curious Spider series is a testament to that decade of patience and resilience.

Semi-retired, he continues to shape Roxy’s future adventures, proving that no matter how long a story takes to be told, it’s always worth the wait.
