Julie Murphy

Julie Murphy writes picture books inspired by her love of animals and nature. She has 22 internationally published books, in fiction, nonfiction and verse. Some are award-winning, shortlisted, on state reading lists and in foreign language editions. Julie is a former zoologist, zookeeper and outdoor educator for years K-5. She loves sharing with children about her writing journey and creating stories that encourage imagination, a love of reading/writing and a deeper connection to the natural world.
