Doug Smith

Doug Smith is an award-winning journalist and author who spent more than 20 years as an editor and writer for three of the nation’s most influential newspapers: Newsday, The New York Post, and USA Today. He is the author of Whirlwind: The Godfather of Black Tennis and the newly released second edition of the novel Same Same, and also collaborated with former tennis star Zina Garrison on her autobiography, Zina: My Life in Women’s Tennis. In 2004, Smith was inducted into the Scripps Howard School of Journalism and Communications Hall of Fame at Hampton University, his alma mater.
