Lucas Ferrer Nappe

Lucas Ferrer Nappe was born in Santiago, Chile, in 1992. He is a psychiatrist and Technical Director of the Intercultural Psychiatry Unit at Kallvu Llanka Hospital, in Caņete — a rural town in southern Chile where he has practiced community and intercultural mental health for years.

His clinical research has been published in Frontiers in Psychiatry (Q1) and Mental Health and Social Inclusion (Emerald Publishing). He has developed an original framework centered on the subjective content of experience — what people actually live through, not just the symptoms they report.

El peso de las sombras (The Weight of Shadows) won unanimously the XIV International Granada Joven Prize for Narrative Prose, awarded by the "Academia de las Buenas Letras" of Granada, Spain. It is his first published work.

He writes from the conviction that literature can go where clinical practice cannot.
