Hemanth Chakravarthy Mudduluru
Hemanth Chakravarthy Mudduluru is a Senior Engineering Leader and ADAS practitioner with twelve years of hands-on experience building the perception systems, safety architectures, and algorithm pipelines that make vehicles smarter — and safer.
Currently a Senior Engineering Supervisor at ZF Group, one of the world's largest automotive technology suppliers, Hemanth leads a team of algorithm engineers and application engineers responsible for integrating ZF's next-generation L2+ and L2++ ADAS systems into production and demonstration vehicle platforms. He serves as the technical point of contact for North America business development and has personally championed more than 20 major vehicle demonstrations for global OEMs across the United States and Europe — translating complex autonomous driving technology into compelling, real-world proof points for automotive executives and engineers alike.
His engineering journey began at Robert Bosch GmbH in Stuttgart, Germany, where he worked as a software engineer and later product owner for radar-based ADAS perception systems, delivering European customer programs for Jaguar Land Rover, Volkswagen, and Daimler. It was here that he first encountered the deep engineering challenges this book addresses — the gap between a perception algorithm that works in simulation and one that works reliably at highway speed, in rain, at night, on a vehicle that real customers trust with their lives.
Over the years at ZF, Hemanth has worked across the full autonomous driving stack — from algorithm engineering and ECU integration, to ISO 26262 and ASPICE-compliant verification and validation, to engineering project management for ZF's Automated Valet Parking program in Düsseldorf, to leading the team that demonstrated ZF's coASSIST, one of the industry's most cost-effective Level 2+ automated driving systems. He has built and led multicultural engineering teams of 15 or more engineers across multiple sites, and has been recognized with ZF's internal innovation awards for his delivery track record.
He is a patent holder and a published author in IEEE.
Hemanth holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Communications from Visvesvaraya Technological University, where he graduated as a Gold Medalist with first class distinction across all semesters — a distinction awarded to the top academic performer in his department. He subsequently earned an MBA from WHU — Otto Beisheim School of Management, ranked the number one business school in Germany, with a focus on Strategy and Entrepreneurship. This rare combination of deep engineering training and business leadership education is reflected throughout this book: technical depth delivered with strategic clarity.
He is professionally fluent in English and German, having spent years working in Germany before relocating to Farmington Hills, Michigan, where ZF's North American ADAS and AD headquarters is based. This global career — spanning India, Germany, and the United States, and touching programs for OEMs on three continents — gives Hemanth a perspective on ADAS engineering that is simultaneously ground-level and global.
Beyond engineering, Hemanth is an active voice in the ADAS and autonomous driving community. His technical LinkedIn articles — including deep dives into sensor fusion architectures, BEV perception algorithms, and SoC selection for ADAS — have reached tens of thousands of engineers, architects, and executives worldwide.
