Stories have always been my safe space. A soft place to land - to rest, to breathe. So being able to create the world for others to drift into and feel safe or escape is a beautiful thing. I hope that this and all of my stories are seen as gifts to the world from someone who knows what it is like to be afraid.

I write about the space between light and shadow—the nuance of truth and necessity of balance. I am most myself in the madness of writing.

My characters are messy and rough, and they embody the indomitable human spirit. They bend and bend and bend, and sometimes they break, but they always leave some sort of meaning.

These stories are all versions of me, some exactly, and others are only tiny glimpses of who I am. But in each of my lead characters, I weave myself into their being to make them come…well…ALIVE.

DOORS is my debut novel, the first in a trilogy that explores a terrifying question: What happens when what you fear most is what you need the most?

I hope that when you find my books, or rather when my books find YOU. You feel home, and safe, and understood. My stories will set you aflame in the best possible way.

My pets would like to be mentioned - Maxine and Obi currently live with me in Arlington, Virginia. A much too human acting cat who thinks she owns the world (she does), and a beagle terrier who's just happy to be here.
