Timothy Brantingham

Timothy Brantingham grew up in Taiwan, the son of Quaker missionaries, speaking Mandarin alongside English and attending international schools. He studied East Asian Studies at the College of William & Mary, then earned a Master’s in Buddhist Studies at the University of Hong Kong, and finally an MBA at Oxford.

For three decades, he has worked in Asian industrial trade and supply chains, navigating the space “in-between” East and West, buyer and supplier, machinist and CEO, the outsourced and the insourced.

Timothy’s career began in Taiwan and expanded into mainland China as the world’s most consequential economic story was just getting started. He's worked across mining equipment, metals, solar energy, supply chains, venture capital, and East-West private equity building businesses where cultures, capital, and commerce converge. He has outsourced, offshored, and reshored. He has sat across the table from factory owners in Suzhou, government officials in Beijing, and executives in American boardrooms, each mostly clueless of the other, yet making decisions that affect us all.
