Willy Renner

Willy Renner writes Cajón instructional books and teaches Cajón in southern Germany. His method book "Cajón – Rhythmic Beats from Wooden Boxes" pairs classic rhythm training with over 50 video tutorials, giving players a clear, structured path from their very first beat. In 2018, his children's book "Cajon – Die musikalische Zauberkiste" was published by Edition Dux, introducing young readers to the world of rhythm in a playful, hands-on way.

He's been playing drums since 1970 and has earned a reputation as one of the region's most sought-after drummers. His training took him to the Swiss Jazz School in Bern, where he studied under Billy Brooks from 1987 to 1989.

For Willy, teaching means bridging real stage experience with solid technique — helping Cajón players of every level develop a stronger, more confident sense of rhythm.
