I’m an old man . . . 84. Same as my dog, Josie. One of my luckiest days was when Carol Ann, agreed to marry me. She thought I was an adventurer. Adventure we have had for 54 years. It began in the inner city of Chicago with Franciscan Brothers and Catholic Workers. Might not mean much to most. They changed our lives. Not a churchy bunch. A roll-up-your-sleeves bunch. Hospitality for the poorest was their flag. Expected and unexpected things took place in those 54 years: eight children and 11 grandchildren. Then, behold, we joined a farm community in Albany, WI, pop. 980, with the same fire for sharing with others. In my subconscious, Gerdy the pig wanted her day in the sun. Hope you enjoy her.
