Darius Blackman

Darius Blackman is the primary pen name of Bryan A. Frazier, a Black American author, publisher, political thinker, and career U.S. Army leader from Oakland, California. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in political science and draws upon more than 22 years of military service, leadership, fatherhood, faith, and lived experience.

As founder of Darius Blackman Publishing, he writes romance, political fiction, mystery, suspense, Afrofuturism, leadership, children’s literature, and political nonfiction. His work examines power, race, love, history, discipline, and civic responsibility.

A registered Independent and progressive populist, Blackman is loyal to people—not political parties. His work is rooted in faith, Black American history, independent thought, and opposition to corporate control of government. He also hosts The Darius Blackman Listening Room, a weekly podcast exploring the research and political questions behind his books.
