A.D. SCHOEMAN

Daniel Schoeman has spent the last 25 years teaching at international schools across Asia. His passion for storytelling developed during his time working with elementary and middle school students, where he discovered the joy of creating, explaining, and illustrating spontaneous narratives to engage young minds. Daniel specializes in adventure and exploration stories, frequently basing his characters on real people he met during his extensive travels. For example, the recurring character Mr. Black, the cat, is inspired by a stray cat he adopted and fed for years, who famously patrolled the perimeter of his home. On a personal note, like Sebastian—the artisan in his stories—Daniel is also a globe maker.
