Oluchi Ekwegh

Oluchi Ekwegh is a Nigerian-born writer whose work explores memory, migration, and the quiet complexities of womanhood. Born in Lagos, her writing is shaped by both displacement and belonging, weaving together personal and diasporic experiences into emotionally resonant stories.

Her debut poetry collection, I Am Not the Person You Left Behind, reflects this voice. It is a meditation on love, identity, change, and the distance between who we once were and who we become. Across her work, she is drawn to the intersection of African mythology, fantasy, and contemporary African literature. She often writes in the space between the ancestral and the modern, the real and the mythic.

She is currently working on a fantasy novel rooted in African myth and tradition, featuring a sharp and intuitive female protagonist determined to shape her own fate.
