Ashwin Sreekumar

Ashwin Sreekumar grew up in India, spending his formative years in a boarding school environment that shaped his independence, resilience, and early appreciation for the transformative power of education. These experiences laid the foundation for a lifelong passion for learning and global engagement.

He went on to begin his international education journey at The University of Queensland (UQ), Australia, where he quickly emerged as a student leader. During his MBA, he served as President of the UQ Business School Postgraduate Association, earned the Dean’s Commendation for Academic Excellence, and was recognised with the Service to the Community Award at UQ’s Top MBA Awards.

He now serves his alma mater as Principal Advisor – Marketing, Strategy and Partnerships (South Asia, Middle East & Africa). With over a decade of experience in Australia’s banking sector, Ashwin brings a distinctive blend of corporate insight and purpose-driven leadership to international education.

He was the inaugural Chair of the UQ India Alumni Network and a Finalist for Corporate Legend of the Year at the Australian Professionals of Colour Awards in 2024.

Deeply committed to building global bridges through education, Ashwin champions ethical internationalisation, equitable access to global learning, and the development of meaningful institutional partnerships that deliver long-term impact across diverse and emerging markets.
