Xaviera Kight

Meet Xaviera Kight, a children’s book author, educator, STEM enthusiast, wife, and mom who believes the biggest adventures begin with imagination and curiosity.

Xaviera is the author of Take Up Space and The Maybe Moon, two children’s books inspired by her son and their shared love for all things space. Through her stories, she hopes to inspire children to look up, wonder, dream big, and believe there is a place for them in the universe.

When she isn’t writing, Xaviera teaches elementary STEM, encouraging students to ask questions, solve problems, create, and see themselves as scientists, engineers, and innovators. She is honored to have been named Teacher of the Year and is passionate about continuing her education to better serve her students.

Xaviera is nationally STEM certified and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education with dual certification in Special Education, a Master’s degree in Mathematics Education, and an Education Specialist degree in Advanced Educational Studies.

At heart, she is a storyteller, teacher, and mom who hopes every child stays curious, dreams boldly, and remembers: there is room for you to take up space.
