William Cahill

Bill Cahill is a retired Air Force officer who lives in the Washington DC area. A Weapons Officer with squadron and wing-level experience, he also served on the Air Staff in the Pentagon and in an inter-agency capacity outside of DoD. Mr. Cahill is a graduate of San Jose State University and has MS degrees from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and the National Defense Intelligence College. Mr. Cahill has been published in The Aviation Historian, Air Power History, FlyPast, and the USAF Weapons Review. His first book, Ferret!, was published in 2025, followed by Overseas Airmen in 2026. Bill prefers to write about aviation history topics that have not been explored previously, with his current focus on the Air Corps in the inter-war period. Future research projects will see a return to reconnaissance topics and also explore the era immediately following the Second World War.
