Hi, I’m A.K. McCutcheon. You can call me Anna. I’m a Latina writer, a Southern California native, and a sun sign Gemini. My short fiction has appeared in literary magazines and print anthologies. I love to write the types of stories I love to read: contemporary and historical tales featuring smoldering suspense, moody mystery, and tantalizing twists. Many of my stories are influenced by my travels (I dream of returning to Egypt one day) and my favorite films noir on the Turner Classic Movies channel. My work has received awards including "Best Suspense/Thriller" in the 2025 Next Generation Short Story Awards, and Black Fox Literary Magazine's Fall Writing Prize 2025.
