Janise Bailey Mitchell was born in Huntsville, Alabama. After high school, she moved to Detroit to attend college, earning a Bachelor of Science degree from Mercy College of Detroit, now the University of Detroit Mercy. She later pursued postgraduate studies at Liberty University.
Her journey took her to Washington, D.C., Maryland, back to Detroit, and ultimately to Colorado. She has traveled extensively across the United States, visited Canada regularly, and journeyed to Egypt with stopovers in Germany.
After a long career in public service, including twenty-four years with the State of Michigan, Janise turned to storytelling. Her cross-cultural romance, Between Two Worlds: Whispers Across the Ocean, received a five-star review from Readers’ Favorite, earning five out of five in every evaluated category.
Janise lives in Colorado with her husband and is currently writing the second book in the Between Two Worlds trilogy.
