Jill Lightner has been writing about food, farms, and sustainability since 2001. She's worked as a restaurant critic, recipe developer, magazine co-editor for the largest member-owned food co-op in the U.S., and editor of the James Beard-winning magazine Edible Seattle. At the age of 6 she came in second in the biscuit category at a county fair, competing against adults, and has managed to work that into conversation often enough she should probably be embarrassed about it.
