Alfred Marcus is the author or co-author of more than 20 books and many academic articles in the Strategic Management Journal, Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, and Organization Science. He is the Edson Spencer Endowed Chair in Strategic Management and Technological Leadership at the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management where he has taught for more than 40 years. He is the host of the popular New Books Netwok podcast On the Cusp Between Strategy and Ethics and a frequent contributor of articles to Seeking Alpha., He has won oustanding scholar of the year and book of the year awards from the Academy of Management ONE division. He has writting about sustainability, demography, and business ethics besides business strategy. His well known books include Innovations in Sustainability and Managing Strategic Uncertainty: Booms and Busts in the Energy Industry, both published by Cambridge Univeristy Press. His Ph.D is from Harvard University and he has masters and undergraduate degrees from the University of Chicago. He has been a visiting faculty member at many universities including the MIT's Sloan School of Management.
