S. S. Ashraf

S.S. Ashraf is a UK-based children’s author, primary teacher, and the founder of Aura Heart and LightŪ.

After studying Law and briefly working in the field, she transitioned into education, where she has spent over a decade working closely with children across a variety of ages and stages. Throughout her teaching career, she has helped young learners grow in confidence, creativity, and self-expression through storytelling and writing.

Her experience as both an educator and a mother has shaped her deep understanding of children’s emotional development. This insight led her to begin writing stories that nurture emotional literacy, connection, and a strong sense of self.

Alongside her children’s books, she also writes reflective poetry, exploring themes of growth, healing, and inner strength.

Through Aura Heart and LightŪ, she creates gentle, meaningful stories centred around values such as kindness, honesty, respect, and belonging. Her work is designed to feel calm, comforting, and timeless, offering children a safe space to explore their emotions.

Her debut book, What Is Forever? reflects her belief that the most lasting things in life are found in everyday acts of care, trust, and connection.

She writes to remind children that the smallest moments can hold the deepest meaning.
