Nazir Soomro

Nazir Ahmed Soomro is a distinguished scholar, researcher, and author from Sindh, Pakistan, with over 45 years of dedicated study in classical poetry. A retired Bank Manager by profession, his lifelong passion has been the re-interpretation of classical literary traditions through modern academic lenses.

He is the author of the acclaimed five-volume Sindhi research series "Akh Ulti Dhar" (comprising over 2,200 pages), a monumental work recognized by prestigious literary organizations, including the Progressive Writers' Association (PWA) and the International Writers Forum Pakistan.

Rejecting conventional mystical readings, Soomro specializes in feminist and existentialist critiques of classical texts, drawing insightful parallels with Western philosophical giants like Nietzsche and Albert Camus. His latest project, "Reading Love Otherwise: The Inverted Vision of Shah Latif," marks his formal entry into the global English-speaking academic world, bringing a revolutionary and inverted perspective to the study of classical Sindhi literature.
