I'm Audrey Buchanan. I write search-and-rescue romance for readers who like their love stories with a little altitude and a lot of heat.
My Crystal Lake Rescue series follows the volunteer SAR team of a small mountain town: the paramedics, ex-military, and stubborn dogs who run toward the thing everyone else is running from, and who are catastrophically bad at protecting their own hearts. Expect protective heroes, strong women, found family, open-door spice, and at least one rescue that goes very badly wrong.
Book one, Breaking the Fall, is a second-chance romance about a woman who loses everything and tries to rebuild her confidence by joining the Search and Rescue team, only to find out that her team leader is the man who broke her heart seven years ago. Safer Ground and Runout follow. All three are available now, free with Kindle Unlimited.
I was born and raised in a small town in rural Canada. Now I live in California, but still in a smallish town, although a little less small. But to be fair, it didn't take much to be bigger than where I grew up. I'm surrounded by hills that are green in the winter and golden in the summer. When I'm not writing, you can find me searching the trails for deer, coyotes and bobcats. I have two little girls and an extremely supportive beta-reader husband who has had a hand in every one of my books.
