Ryan Bryce is a Canadian author, game developer, and worldbuilder from Ontario. He's always been drawn to fantasy, mythology, video games, and the idea that ancient ruins and forgotten places might still have a few secrets left to tell.
He's spent much of his life creating worlds, first through games, art and design, and more recently through writing. His debut novel, Where Fate Breaks, is the first published story set in the world of Arynbel. It is a dark fantasy world he's been building around questions of fate, faith, identity, and what happens when people challenge the roles they're expected to play.
Outside of writing, Ryan has worked across game development, simulation, technical art, and interactive media. It's a background that has shaped how he approaches storytelling, particularly his love of creating places that feel like they existed long before the reader arrived.
Ryan lives with his wife, children, and their pug, Sir Percival. When he's not writing or working on games, he's usually reading, hiking, practising archery, or finding another excuse to spend time outdoors.
More often than not, he's thinking about Arynbel anyway.
