Susan Santone is an educator and author with over three decades of experience in curriculum reform, educational policy, and teacher preparation. An instructor at the University of Michigan School of Education (and formerly, Eastern Michigan University), she designed and taught graduate- and undergraduate courses on education policy, instructional design, and multicultural education. She’s the author of 'Reframing the Curriculum: Design for Social Justice and Sustainability' (Routledge, 2019), and numerous academic articles and book chapters. She’s presented at national and international conferences and served on the board of the U.S. Society for Ecological Economics.
Through Creative Change Educational Solutions, the nonprofit consulting firm she founded, she led curriculum reform initiatives with K-12 districts and universities. She also developed curricula for PBS Kids, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the United Nations.
A life-long artist, she’s now weaving her creative talents with her educational expertise to develop fiction- and nonfiction works for young people. In this fresh territory, big ideas meet imagination to inspire joy, curiosity, and hope.
