Ginny Ryan is a retired educator who spent 33 years teaching elementary school in Salem, Oregon, where she inspired children to explore, create, and develop a lifelong love of learning. She earned a master's degree in "Leadership in Education" and became a leader in integrating technology into the classroom.
In addition to her work in education, Ginny taught swimming lessons for 18 years, specializing in working with reluctant swimmers and individuals with learning and physical disabilities. Her passion for encouraging confidence and curiosity in children continues to influence her writing today.
Ginny and her husband, Gary, raised two daughters and recently celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary. They have enjoyed traveling together throughout the years. In 2026, she published her first children's picture book, Zoo Tracks, a heartwarming story that celebrates imagination, courage, and the special bond between generations.
Ginny also coordinates visitations in Salem for Paws for Love, a nonprofit pet therapy organization. Alongside her dog, Buddy, she volunteers in assisted living communities, schools, universities, veterans' facilities, and other settings where a little canine comfort can brighten someone's day.
Through her stories, Ginny hopes to inspire young readers to stay curious, be brave, and discover the wonder that can be found in everyday adventures.
