Shannon Simonelli earned her Ph.D. in Imaginal Psychology and Creative Arts Therapy at The Union Institute and University, is a Registered Art Therapist (ATR), and co-founder of the NeuroImaginal Institute where she has been developing her work for over two decades—bringing it together in The Circulatio, group work, program development and private practice.
She has served in clinical leadership at a premier psychiatric hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, in a recovery program on Maui, Hawai’i, and a private therapeutic boarding school in Tooele, Utah.
Her work has also focused on education: in K-12 statewide curriculum development and training in differentiation and inclusion for students with disabilities, teaming trainings for teachers, and teaching masters-level counseling and psychology students.
She has authored, co-authored or produced over 30 articles, effective practice briefs, and podcasts, and presented at dozens of conferences, most often with an experiential component for her audience.
She lives and works in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she dances, Djs, hikes and enjoys time with family, friends and her beloved dog Fritz.
