Johnny Ledger

When people ask where my inspiration comes from, I usually smile—because it’s been a long, winding road. After many years in law enforcement, much of it spent in investigative or supervisory roles, life took me even farther afield. I worked as a contractor for the State Department’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement, living and working in both Iraq and Haiti.

It was in Haiti, where electricity was a luxury and quiet evenings were plentiful, that I discovered something unexpected: I enjoyed writing stories just as much as I enjoyed reading them.

Now retired, I’m grateful for a life full of experience and creativity. I spend my days writing books, composing and crafting songs, and painting nature scenes in oil—pursuing the things that bring me joy and keep my imagination alive.
