Darla Seyffert is an Army veteran and retired Border Patrol Agent whose experiences in service, combined with a lifelong love of books, inspire the worlds and characters she creates. Watching her adult children build lives they love taught her that dreams are meant to be pursued, not postponed, and writing became part of that journey.

Darla writes science fiction that explores resilience, identity, and the enduring human need for connection. She lives in Texas with a spirited collection of dogs, cats, and fish, all of whom believe they are in charge.

She believes that if something in life sounds interesting—and doesn't hurt anyone—you should try it. You never know where that first step might lead.
