Bea Herbert

Bea Herbert is a Psychosynthesis Psychologist, writer, and founder of States of Mind CIC, where she develops community-led approaches to youth mental health, wellbeing, and systems change.

Bea has spent her professional career working alongside young people, educators, and communities to co-create alternatives to traditional medicalised models of mental health care. Her work focuses on helping young people develop deeper self-understanding, emotional resilience, and meaningful participation in the systems that shape their lives.

She is the creator of Selfology, a therapeutic programme designed for schools, supported housing, and community settings, and the Wellbeing Ambassadors Programme, a whole-school approach to developing psychologically informed cultures within education. Her work bridges psychology, education, and social innovation, with a particular focus on democratic and holistic approaches to wellbeing.

Grounded in the belief that lasting change happens through connection, participation, and shared understanding, Bea is dedicated to applying psychological theory and practice in ways that support both individual and collective transformation.
