Sunil Mehta is a 40-year veteran of the Silicon Valley technology sector and a debut novelist. Born in Mumbai, he earned his bachelor’s degree in engineering from IIT Bombay before moving to the U.S. for graduate study, completing advanced engineering degrees at Penn State and MIT.
Sunil began his career at Intel in 1984, launching a four-decade journey in the semiconductor industry that continues today in his role as a startup executive. A prolific innovator, he holds 92 U.S. patents and has authored 18 technical publications.
Beyond technology, Sunil is a dedicated cultural curator and creator of an expansive online digital archive (SunilsLists) reflecting his deep passion for cinema, music, literature, and history. He lives in the San Francisco Bay Area. "The Compass" is his debut novel, born out of a career spent at the intersection of science, history, and the human stories behind innovation.
