Michael Boles

Michael W. Boles, a former professional surfer and lifelong entrepreneur, lives in St. Augustine, Fla., with his wife, Daria. An avid hunter and conservationist, he currently focuses his time on conservation efforts, youth mentoring, and non-profit education initiatives when he is not pursuing investments in real estate and activities with his sons, Tyler and Alex. Born in Madison, N.C., Mike is a proud Flagler College graduate and now serves on the Flagler College LEAD Fund Board, which works to support students at Flagler College through scholarships, mentorship, and leadership training. His most recent conservation effort includes the donation of more than 113 acres from his family's ranch in Palatka, Fla., to the St. Johns River Water Management District, preserving the land from development and enhancing wildlife and local ecology. He is working with Ducks Unlimited to restore the local bobwhite quail population. Bending Light is his first book.
