Andrew serves as the lead pastor of Mercy Hill Church In Greensboro, NC. Mercy Hill was launched in 2012 by a group of 30 faithful individuals. It is centered on the gospel and has a radical commitment to the nations with a desire to make disciples and multiply churches.
Andrew grew up in a Christian home in North Florida. He became a believer at a young age under the leadership of his parents. He was raised in a small, but strong church that confirmed his giftings at every stage of development.
Andrew attended North Greenville University to play football and hone his ability to preach and lead. In school, he was also given the biggest blessing of his life in meeting and marrying a godly woman. Andrew and Anna were married in 2005, and they now have 4 children. Their youngest daughter, Faith Ann, came into their family through adoption, a living picture of the chosen family every believer is welcomed into.
Prior to Mercy Hill, Andrew spent 5 years at the Summit Church in Raleigh-Durham, NC, during which he earned a Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Andrew served as a campus pastor under his friend and mentor J.D. Greear, and Andrew’s desire to plant a church came directly from the Summit’s vision to plant 1,000 churches in a generation.
Mercy Hill now carries this same vision for multiplication.
In addition to leading Mercy Hill, Andrew is passionate about championing others and raising up future leaders. He is active in coaching others in public speaking, preaching, and leadership.
If the Hoppers aren’t found running hard at Mercy Hill, they are probably outside playing ball or messing around on their hobby farm. Andrew loves coaching his kids in sports, hunting, fishing, and really anything farm related.
