Amy Johnson

I’m Amy Johnson, a Los Angeles-based author, business coach, and former Hollywood film executive. I discovered pickleball by accident on the last day of a business trip. I had no idea it would become such a pivotal part of my life.

I believe starting something new can be harder than we think, especially in midlife when the voice that says “it’s too late” becomes a little too familiar.

I noticed that the lessons I was learning on the court applied to my life and work. The same themes showed up everywhere: communication, teamwork, resilience, and the surprising ways connection and joy can change us. After playing, I would sit in my car and capture those reflections in my Notes app.

Over time, those notes became my first book: Life Lessons in Pickleball: Joy, Connection, and Why It’s Never Too Late to Get in the Game.

I live in Los Angeles with my two daughters and two small dogs who have strong opinions about everything (both the daughters and the dogs). I wouldn’t want it any other way.
