Dave Bartholomew has spent his entire life in Washington State and embraced the natural world at an early age, spending as much time there as possible. It was on his outdoor adventures he discovered the rich history of the Pacific Northwest; it often is just under our feet, literally.
It was during his travels to the far reaches of our globe that he discovered his love of writing fiction. In a tiny town on the island of Sumatra, he finished reading the one book he had brought, had no internet, but he had his laptop. A story flowed from his mind to his fingers to the computer keys, and a story emerged to his delight and great surprise.
Another surprise emerged when he moved to a remote mountain valley deep in the Cascade Mountains. The trials and tribulations of the first Europeans to the valley inspired the historical fiction book, On the White. Encouraged by the positive reception of this title, Dave began his quest to write about the rich and ancient history of the native peoples of the area, thus the birth of People of the Source.
Other activities in his life currently include working hard on their homestead, doing gardening, making compost, caring for animals, and putting up this year’s supply of firewood; doing volunteer work in his community; and continuing his lifelong passion for time in the out-of-doors, especially with his wife, adult children, and their families.
