Gale Lane

Gale Lane writes speculative mysteries in which ordinary places obey impossible rules. Her stories begin with small disturbances: flowers that remember, records that forget, streets that change their names and objects that reject the lives assigned to them.

She is the author of Daffodils at the End of the World and Roses for the Man Who Was Wrong, the first two novels in the Flower Collection. This interconnected series of standalone mysteries follows archivist Millie Spence as flowers lead her beyond the version of the world preserved in official records. Each book resolves its own central mystery and can be read independently, while the series gradually reveals a larger story.

When not writing, Gale can usually be found collecting stories, wandering through bookshops, and asking questions that may be better left unanswered.
