Alexia Parolis

Alexia Parolis published her first book, Bebu and the Magical Dragonfly, in memory of her son Andrew, who passed away in May 2021 at just three and a half years old after battling congenital heart disease from birth. Writing became her way of honouring his life and sharing his spirit with the world.

A former attorney, Alexia stepped away from her legal career to care full-time for her children, and especially for Andrew, whose condition required constant medical support. She finds peace and inspiration in reading, in the world of books, and in time spent outdoors in nature.

She lives in Cape Town, South Africa, with her husband Gerry and Andrew's big brother, Harry.
