David John Kosorok writes The Rockwood Boys, a full-color illustrated adventure series for readers ages 8 to 12, sparked by the true stories his grandfather Clive told him about growing up in 1920s Salt Lake City.
Homemade flying machines, motorcycles out in the desert, a monster in Bear Lake, and the kind of trouble three brothers could find before screens existed. David takes those seeds and grows them into tall tales told straight: fully fantastical adventures stitched so tightly into real Utah history that they read as true. He writes the books he wishes he could hand his own kids and grandkids, warm and funny and fast, with brotherhood and courage at the heart of every one.
He is also at work on a darker, bigger adventure for teen readers, a monster-hunter series arriving in 2026.
David lives in Southern Utah, where the red rock and the wide sky still make the impossible feel close. New adventures arrive often. Keep looking up.
