antonino morvillo

Antonino Morvillo was born and lives in Sicily, on the coast near Palermo, a land he remains deeply tied to in everything he writes. A trained electronic engineer, he spent his professional life as a middle manager overseeing technological and IT systems, developing over the years a self-taught passion for energy and environmental topics — not as an industry specialist, but as a devoted enthusiast.

His true calling, however, has always been writing. A talent already known to those close to him, but long kept in check by the daily demands of corporate life. Since retiring, that calling has finally found all the time and space it deserves: today Antonino writes not to fill his days, but because writing, for him, was never a pastime — it is simply what he was meant to do.

A prolific author, he ranges from psychological noir to sentimental fiction, from poetry — including in Sicilian dialect, in Li me poesie — to comic theatre, all part of his narrative journey collected under the "Terre di Sale" series. Non-fiction has its place too: works of popular science and in-depth reflection on the great themes of energy and territory, where the rigor of a mind trained in technical method meets a critical and passionate outlook, gathered in the Terra e Futuro series.

Several of his titles have been translated into various languages to reach an international readership.

His writing is born from the meeting of an engineer's rigor and curiosity with a love for the landscape, language, and stories of his island — a narrative workshop that never stops expanding, from genre to genre.

His work is often noir; however, the author never makes explicit reference to murder scenes in his novels, leaving it to the reader to imagine them.
