As a career Fire Captain and Paramedic serving the Eugene-Springfield area, he has spent twenty years on the frontlines of crisis, trauma, and triage. This experience lends a visceral, grounded authenticity to the Western Eclipse series.

When he isn't navigating high-stakes emergencies, Lenz is deep into the practicalities of rural property management. He lives on ten acres in Fall Creek, Oregon, with his wife Alyssa, a fellow frontline nurse, their two sons, a dog, a cat, and a fiercely independent flock of chickens and ducks. A dedicated DIYer, he spends his off-shift hours wrangling heavy machinery, managing multiple apiaries, and tending to a sprawling garden.
