Hi readers
I am an historian writer and lawyer based in Australia.
I write mainly non fiction books about the colonial period from the late 18th Century until about 1850. In that space I focus primarily on both the maritime and First Nations peoples cross cultural exchanges and encounters with Europeans.
In my second book Mariners on the Margins I take you on a voyage through the characters who populated the sealing industry and their interactions with the Palawa people of Tasmania.
In my most recent book called Framing the Future I awaken you to the enduring collaboration between a missionary and a First Nation leader and scholar called Biraban. These collaborators were in the forefront of preserving an oral language for the benefit of future generations of the clan called the Awabakal while also introducing the colonial judiciary to Aboriginal culture and law among other skills.
I am passionate about writing and try to do so most days of the week
In addition I play field hockey at a reasonably high level am a keen gardener and dog lover while also enjoying family time with my parched and son .
