Becca Silver

Becca Silver has spent over 20 years in education as a teacher, instructional leader, and leadership coach, which means she's been on every side of a stalled initiative: the teacher quietly resisting it, the coach trying to move it forward, and the leader wondering why nothing is sticking.

That question, why good change efforts stall and what the people leading them can do about it, became her life's work. She founded The Whole Educator, where she trains coaches and education leaders across the country, and she spent years teaching growth mindset to districts nationwide alongside Mindset Works, the organization founded by the original growth mindset researchers. Along the way she developed the Catalyst Mindsets™, the framework at the heart of this book, built on one idea: Resistance isn't defiance. It's information.

Becca hosts the Coaching the Whole Educator podcast and holds a Master's in Organizational Leadership and Learning with an emphasis on Human Development. She believes supporting the whole child starts with supporting the whole educator.
