Born in Tianjin, China, and later residing in Beijing for many years, he graduated from Tianjin Normal University. Possessing a deep love for literature and the fine arts from early childhood, he assisted in organizing library collections during his youth and had widely read Chinese and foreign classics before the age of fifteen.
Graduating from university in 1967 amid a turbulent era, he was sent down to the Nanmachang pasture in Zhangjiakou to herd horses, followed by a year of mining in Shuikoushan. Years of living among the wind, snow, and pastoral life sparked his literary inspiration. He subsequently served as a full-time graphic artist at a cultural center and an art teacher at a railway middle school. Though he penned two full-length novels in his early years, regrettably, neither was published due to the limitations of the era.
In the 1990s, he traveled to the United States as a visiting scholar and later became a naturalized Canadian citizen, working as a portrait artist in North America for over two decades. In 2020, he published his novel The Great Abduction in the United States, utilizing a sharp and piercing pen to channel his fierce indignation against evil, fulfilling his lifelong ambition of struggle and perseverance.
Half a lifetime dedicated to the paintbrush, half a lifetime immersed in ink. His life has been intricately entwined with literature and fine art, his profound artistic foundation forming the very bones and flesh beneath his words.
A Poem to Express My Will:
Having traversed the vast expanse of human existence,
I remain steadfast—
Forging my character through unyielding resolve,
And settling life’s scores with passion and grace.
