Sandra Mercer

Sandra Mercer was born and raised in Northboro, Massachusetts which is the setting for her first children’s book, The Jewelry Tree. Her inspiration for this story developed out of her memories growing up in this small town during the late

1960’s and early 70’s. When presented with the task of teaching her upper elementary students how to craft ideas for memoir writing, the idea of writing her own story began to take shape in her imagination. The Jewelry Tree playfully invites its readers back to a simpler time when neighborhood friendships ruled small town afternoons.

Sandra holds a Masters degree in Reading and Elementary Education and enjoys online studies in classical and children’s literature. When she isn’t hiking the trails near her home in North Carolina with her two adventurous grandchildren, Sandra can almost always be found browsing the aisles of her favorite bookstore or in her garden.
