Dr. Edwin Fernandez

I am an educator, mentor, and leader with more than 25 years of experience in teaching, training, and professional development. I currently teach at the college level, where I support adult learners and contribute to faculty growth and development.

I hold a master's degree in Educational Leadership and a doctorate in Adult Education. Throughout my career, I have served in a variety of leadership, training, and development roles across several companies and educational institutions. These experiences have provided me with opportunities to participate in and support mentoring and professional development initiatives in both organizational and educational settings.

I have also contributed to mentoring and faculty development through participation in peer mentoring committees and by designing mentoring programs to support new faculty members and employees. In addition to my work in education and leadership, I teach American Sign Language (ASL) and Methods of Teaching American Sign Language to current and future educators. This work has allowed me to mentor and support new ASL teachers as they grow in their profession.

Having personally experienced the challenges that new employees, educators, and professionals often face when entering unfamiliar environments, I developed a deep passion for mentoring and professional growth. My doctoral research focused on designing mentoring processes that help organizations build stronger developmental systems that foster growth, confidence, a sense of belonging, and long-term success.

I firmly believe that every individual deserves meaningful support, guidance, and opportunities for growth throughout their professional journey. No one should feel alone while navigating the challenges of learning, leading, or transitioning into a new role. Today, I continue to mentor and support part-time instructors within my department while advocating for mentoring cultures that strengthen individuals, teams, and organizations.

Through my writing, teaching, and mentoring, my goal is to equip leaders, educators, coaches, and organizations with practical tools to build meaningful mentoring relationships that create lasting impact.
