Larry Barnes is a U.S. Navy veteran, former Navy Corpsman, and founder of SHTF Medical Skills, where he teaches lifesaving skills rooted in real-world experience. His time serving alongside Marines shaped his understanding of resilience, sacrifice, and the bonds forged through adversity.

Those experiences inspired his debut novel, Echoes in Silence, a powerful story exploring the invisible wounds of war, survivor's guilt, brotherhood, and the long road home. While fictional, the novel reflects the emotional realities faced by many veterans and their families.

When he isn't writing Larry continues educating others through emergency medical instruction, creating content focused on prepardness and first aid, and developing innovative lifesaving equipment. He lives in Virginia with his wife, family, and their loyal dog, Maize, whose unwavering companionship inspired one of the novel's most memorable characters.
