Markus Anton Weber

Markus Anton Weber brings more than three decades of experience in national defense and security, with the vast majority of his career spent within the Global Special Operations community. His work has focused on crisis management, operational readiness, security program development, training design and delivery, and the leadership of teams tasked with planning and executing complex missions under demanding conditions.

Over the course of his service, Markus accumulated extensive interagency, multinational, and combat experience across diverse environments, including both tactical and strategic levels. He served with the Canadian Infantry and the Canadian Special Operations Command (CANSOFCOM), which included participating in missions throughout the Middle East, Africa, the Caribbean, and Asia-Pacific. These operations included public safety and security efforts under United Nations Chapter VII mandates, as well as various non-combatant evacuation operations, counterinsurgency, domestic and international counterterrorism, and unconventional warfare. During the final phase of his military career, Markus participated in an exchange program with United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). In that role, he developed comprehensive operational recommendations concerning the national Counter-Violent Extremism Strategy that were briefed through the U.S. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to the highest levels of national defense leadership, including the U.S. Secretary of War (Defense).

Recently, Markus retired from active duty and is now focused on uplifting others through ongoing mentorship, instruction, and knowledge transfer. Currently, he serves as the CEO of 242 Group LLC, a premier global security services provider. He also acts as a syndicate leader and mentor for corporate leadership retreats, as well as faculty at the United States Special Operations University and NATO Special Operations University. Here, his work bridges the gap between strategic defense policy and real-world execution. Finally, he’s the recent author of “A Call to Warriors” – a book meant to validate purpose and identity, employ extreme ownership and what it means to take pertinent action despite dynamic and difficult circumstances.

In his spare time, Markus remains an avid outdoorsman, adventurer, and sportsman. He is most proud of his two adult sons, and he remains deeply committed to living the values of purpose, discipline, and service, all of which shape his life’s work – and writings.
