After retirement, I looked for something that would challenge me mentally and keep me thinking — I found it in writing. What started as a way to stay sharp turned into something genuinely fulfilling, and I've been writing ever since.

I've now written about 30 books across a wide range of topics — political thrillers (including the 2038 series and its prequel, The Red Shift), mysteries, historical and faith-based fiction, a memoir, and a couple of nonfiction histories of the American political parties. I don't stick to one lane, and I like it that way.
