Simon Larsson

Simon Larsson is a researcher at the Centre for Multidisciplinary Research on Religion and Society at Uppsala University, Sweden, and holds a PhD in Social Anthropology from the University of Gothenburg. His work focuses on religion, colonialism, governance, institutions, and social transformation. Having grown up partly in Swedish mission contexts in Tanzania, he has a long-standing interest in the history and legacy of Christian mission. His book Swedish Protestant Missionaries and Social Reordering in King Leopold’s Congo is based on eight years of archival research into Swedish Protestant mission in the Congo Free State.
