Lori Mitchell

Lori Mitchell, RN, is a registered nurse, author, wellness educator, and lifelong dog lover who believes some of life’s greatest lessons come from the dogs who share our journey. For more than two decades, she has devoted her career to caring for others, offering encouragement, and helping people recognize their own strength.

Her book, Lessons in Love: What Our Dogs Teach Us About Life, was inspired by five unforgettable dogs—Rex, Buster, JAX, Bella, and Ringo—each offering lessons in loyalty, courage, forgiveness, patience, joy, and unconditional love. Through heartfelt stories, Lori invites readers of all ages to celebrate the wisdom and laughter dogs bring into our lives.

Lori lives in Northern California with her husband and co-author, Joe, and their furry kids, JAX and Ringo. The book was a family project, brought to life with heartfelt illustrations by her brother-in-law, Ben.
